Meet Madison!

NEWEST PANHELLENIC PRESIDENT!!

Recently, our very own Madison Birckhead was elected PANHELLENIC PRESIDENT!!! We are so proud to have Pi Phi represented by such a strong and capable woman. Auburn Panhellenic is SO lucky to have Madison as our leader, and we are so excited to see the great things that she accomplishes!! I asked Madison questions about why she wanted to run, and how she has prepared for this important role...and here are her answers :)

What position were you elected for?

I was recently elected to serve as the 2020 Panhellenic President!

What does that position entail?

As President, I will preside over the Panhellenic Council at Auburn and all of its members. This includes all 18 chapters and their women. I will also represent Panhellenic as a whole to other offices and divisions on campus so our voices can be heard. I will work closely with the other Greek Life council Presidents to promote a unified and strengthened Greek community this year.

Why did you want to apply for Panhellenic President?

I have been serving Panhellenic since my freshman year when I was slated as the Junior Panhellenic Delegate for Pi Phi. Since then, I have increased my involvement within the council by holding the position of Liaison to Greek Councils this past year. In this role I worked closely with members of NPHC, IFC, and MGC to promote cross-council unity. Being a Pi Chi for recruitment 2019, showed me yet another side of Panhellenic as I was able to experience recruitment outside of my own sorority and I absolutely loved this experience. Seeing this council and how it operates from so many different angles gave me a newfound love for the organization and inspired me to apply for President.

How did you prepare for Panhellenic President?

I would say my greatest preparation for this role would be my previous experiences, but also my passion for the betterment of Panhellenic as a whole. For the interview specifically, the best preparation was self-reflection on my time in Panhellenic and what I could do through this role to enhance the council and Greek community.

What other things on campus are you/have you been involved in?

This year at Auburn I have also served as a Camp War Eagle counselor, Vice President of Member Development for Pi Beta Phi, and Director of Campus Relations for Auburn University Dance Marathon. In previous years, I have been the Administrative Assistant and Assistant Director of Greek Life for AUDM, Pledge Class President, Junior Panhellenic Delegate, and on New Member Committee for Pi Phi, in addition to working on the development committee for UPC. I am also a member of Rho Lambda, a national sorority leadership recognition society.

What are you most excited for?

I am most excited to continue working with all of the women of Panhellenic. This year I will get to work closely with the Presidents of each sorority and I am looking so forward to helping them grow in their positions and see strides made within their chapters. I hope to represent our council well to the University and hope to make Pi Phi proud!

WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU MADISON!!!!
