Claire Tielke is a rising junior from St. Louis, MO, majoring in exercise science with a goal of going to
physical therapy school. Her family consists of a sister who just graduated from ole miss, her mom and dad, and her shiba inu and 2 cats. She went to one school her entire life (2 years old to graduation) so coming to Auburn was a major life change for Claire. She is currently serving as our Vice President of Philanthropy here at Pi Beta Phi. One fun fact about Claire is that she has an irrational fear of bicycles. She wanted to get more involved in Pi Phi and thought a leadership position would be a great way to get to know more people. She also believes that holding a leadership position leads to great opportunities and a unique way to learn more about herself and Pi Phi. Claire has learned more about our philanthropy and has grown a deeper respect and understanding for the two organizations we support as our philanthropy: the Pi Beta Phi Foundation, as well as Boys and Girls Club of America. Her position has taught her to be patient and to be more communicative. She is learning more organizational and time management skills which she hopes will help her in her future profession. She hopes to leave our chapter with pride in our philanthropy and a greater understanding for why philanthropic service to others is one of our core values. She also hopes to let others see that a “philanthropic service” doesn’t have to be a grand gesture or monetary donation. It can be simple and easy and something that occurs daily such as having fun with the kids at the Boys and Girls Club, or collecting books. We are so proud to have such a driven and loving philanthropy chair and can't wait for all our philanthropic events this upcoming semester.
